hey Ramona and Erik, wie geht es?? do you still remember me btw :)...
it's been long time I didnt check your blog, I always wanted to, but my bad, I always forgot!
But, wow! I am so glad you finally reached Java :) the densest island in the world! I hope you enjoyed your trips to Bromo and Borobudur!
Just a week ago, a friend of mine who lives in Cologne, Germany tagged my name on his pictures on Facebook, and the pictures were ein Indonesisches Restaurant Haus Java, and a place (I dont know what it is called) that has a lot of Javanese things, including the Javanese puppets,Ramayana and Shinta. If you happened to go to another temple called Prambanan, there is always a traditional dance during moonlight night (once in a month). The two puppets would be the main characters of the dance (I think it's more like musical drama).
Kawah Ijen is absolutely gorgeous, but when I was there I couldnt stand for the sulfur.. but, like what you said, the men who mine sulfur in Kawah Ijen, do not even have mask on their face. the only safety that i remember was a pair of boots.. oh Gosh!
Btw, when you were in Yogyakarta, did you feel the effects of Merapi mountain eruption?? It erupted couple of times recently, in Oct-Nov...
So, are you back in Hamburg now??
Never heard - is that a toothpaste or some disease?
We only found out about Merapi because my mother told us so. And then we already left for Thailand. We made our way on the burmese border to the north of Thailand and further on to Laos.
Greetings to the densest island in the world from the most relaxed country in south east asia.
Java!
